Band Check In & Vehicle Routes & Band Parking:
The routes and parking plans are NEW this year! All band vehicles, big and small, will check in at 1612 Lee Street. All vehicles should enter Lee Street heading west coming off of Monroe Street. Preferred route for larger vehicles starts at the intersection of Culver Street and Monroe Street (see map for semi route). Your guides will meet you at this check-in location and work with you to ensure a smooth unloading and parking process.
Directors Lounge-Also NEW this year!
A calm, relaxing “Director’s Only” room is located on the first floor of the stadium on the north end of the concourse. Take a break on the couches and enjoy our small town hospitality. Your directors packets will be delivered to you here.
Judge Comments & Score Sheets
Your recorded comments will be sent to you in a Google folder about 30 minutes after your performance. Comments will be sent from Mike Major, who will be running tabulations for us. Please be on the lookout for an email from NETEX Marching @gmail.com. You can pick up your packet about 30 minutes after your performance in the Directors Lounge.
The video of your performance will be on an SD card that will be in your comment sheet packet. This SD card is small, so be watching for it when you open your packet. It will be in a small ziplock baggie.
Water stations will be set up at each warm-up site and near the stadium performance exit area.
Awards – After Prelims
Drum Majors please meet at the south end of the stands in full uniform during the performance by the TAMUC Lion Band. Awards will be presented for Outstanding Class 1/2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A and Captions for each class. Finalists (top 10 bands) will be announced at this time (director for performing Band #1 for finals will be notified as soon as this determination is made to allow time to organize band to move to warm-up for finals shortly after this ceremony).
Drum Majors please meet at the south end of the stands in full uniform, during the performance by the Commerce High School Tiger Band. Awards will be presented for NETEX19 Grand Champion, 2nd Place Finals, 3rd Place Finals and Captions.
Food – Park Once…Stay All Day!
At Sam Rayburn Student Center:
Cool Beans Coffee Shop 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon ($1.00 off coupons available outside the shop. These support the Band Boosters! Get them while supplies last!)
Mane Dining Room-All You Can Eat for $8.95
($1.00 off coupons that support our band are also available while supplies last! Want to feed your whole band and use $1.00 coupons? Email Melinda at email@example.com to reserve this savings!)
Brunch: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
At the Stadium (support our Commerce Band Boosters! We receive a share of all stadium concession profits):
Concession Stand: Open all day
Food Truck: 4:00 p.m til around 8:00 p.m. (Chicken Tenders or Burger & Fries Basket + drink for $7.25)
Please NO outside food or drink in the stadium! If your band chooses to picnic or eat fast food from a local restaurant, please do NOT bring these things into the stadium. Please respect our Commerce Bands fundraiser and the wishes of our TAMU-C hosts by ensuring your band follows this request.
All day wristbands: $10 for adults; $5 for students. Bands will be given one chaperone wristband for every 20 band members with the check-in packets.
Spectator Parking and Dining Information
Spectator parking is available on the TAMU-C Campus. Shuttle busses will run to the stadium from these lots throughout the day. Handicapped parking (limited) and spectator drop-offs are at the stadium entrance. Please share the attached Spectator Map with your band families and friends.
Are available in the stadium concourse and in the Sam Rayburn Center. Ask your guides if an “emergency pit stop” for a band member is needed while on the warm-up route.
Plan A-It’s going to be a lovely, crisp and clear fall day in Texas.
Plan B-It’s lightening! If the university’s lightning alarm activates, all must clear the field and stands and take shelter in the stadium concourse or in your vehicles until the “all clear” is given from this system. Please help keep everyone safe by following the TAMU-C policies and procedures. Watch your digital schedule for updates for warm-up and performance time.
Plan C-It’s a gully-washer/all day rain! Contest will move to Commerce High School. Watch your digital schedule and email for details.
